The first Chivalry was, in a lot of ways, made by an amateur team. We came from the modding community with Age of Chivalry and decided to make a proper retail game.

Since the original CMW horde mode was a mod made with the publicly available mod tools, presumably a modder could remake it when the SDK releases. The AI is too shit for this.
